"At the York start, I looked around at the faces of what seemed to be hundreds of cheerful, determined, and completely soaked riders and volunteers. Earlier in the morning, I had worried about the safety of the riders in the downpour I knew they were riding through. That anxiety had dulled the thought that now was so clear: all this, these insane riders, riding in the worst of conditions --riding for me, a Parkinsons patient, and thousands of other patients-- had been the result of one thought, one person, one initial action... an idea."

"I wanted to somehow broadcast right there that if you think that your action, your thought, your vote, your opinion, your anything doesn't count, think again. But don't let the thought paralyze you. Act. Drive ahead. One person can, and so touchingly has, made a huge difference. In many, many lives."

There have been an amazing number of inspiring stories coming out of this ride... We're working on getting it all down, for you to read here. We've had press coverage, tons of photos, quotes and even videos of the events of the day.

This was a day that over a hundred people were brought together, many of them stangers, many of them friends and family, to spend a long day together to fight against the feelings of frustration, sadness and anger that result from a debilitating disease like Parkinson's.

We rode, and helped, and contributed, to show that we love, we care, we defy, and we will not stand by while those we love fight this disease every day in their own personal lives.

"...my knees were completely blown out by mile 30. But I finished the ride, practically just coasting for the last 10 miles, because I couldn't spin the pedals anymore.

One of the reasons... I knew that, no matter how bad it got, after a night's sleep, or a week, or a month, I would be better. ...yet, for the people who have this disease, they have to face it every day. It will not be better until we find a cure."

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
- Margaret Mead
